Furnace installation options in Scottdale, GA
Most replacement furnaces for our climate zone fall under one of these efficiency categories:
- Standard efficiency: Even if your current furnace is a “standard” unit, today’s standard furnaces are likely still more efficient than whatever you’re replacing! They’re rated at 80% AFUE and use open combustion.
- High efficiency: Rated at 90% AFUE or higher, these units use less energy, work great in sealed environments, and use closed combustion.
Residential furnace are also available with different stages of heat:
- Single stage: This is probably how your current furnace works. Every time it turns on, it runs at full capacity until it satisfies your thermostat setting. Then it cuts off.
- Two stage: These furnaces have two capacities: high and low. Most of the time, they’ll run at the lower setting, saving you money while keeping your home comfortable. They’ll only switch to the higher capacity when your heating needs are more significant.
- Modulating: Delivering maximum comfort and efficiency, these furnaces ramp up and down to meet your home’s exact heating needs at any given time.
