What to Expect From Your $99 Leak Detection

Here's how it works.

1 Schedule Your Visit

Book online or call or text us. We'll confirm the soonest available appointment — same-day and evenings available.

2 Arrival & Home Protection

We'll call when we're on the way. Shoe covers on, floors and cabinets protected, and we'll start by hearing what you've been seeing — the water bill, the damp spot, the sound, whatever brought you here.

3 The Diagnostic

This is what the $99 covers, and it's thorough: water meter testing to confirm you're losing water, moisture readings on walls, floors, and ceilings, isolation testing to narrow down which line is involved, pressure testing to confirm it, and a whole-home plumbing evaluation while we're there. We work the whole property — inside walls and ceilings, under slabs and floors, beneath driveways and patios, out in the yard, and at the meter and service line.

4 If the Leak Is Still Hiding

Most leaks we find with the steps above. Some don't show themselves that easily — those take advanced equipment like thermal imaging or tracer gas, and that's additional work beyond the $99. Some take an hour. Some take four or more. Your plumber will walk you through what's involved and what it costs, and nothing happens until you say go.

5 What We Found, and What's Next

We mark the exact location — often within inches — show you what's happening, and explain it in plain language. You'll get your repair options with upfront pricing before anything moves forward, and if it turns out you don't need a repair from us, we'll tell you that too. And we do the repair ourselves — spot repairs, reroutes, slab work, repipes — so you're not handed off to another company after we find it.

All About Water Leaks & Pipe Repair: Key Details, Tips, and Benefits for a Worry-Free Home

Common leak sources we tackle include:

  • Behind Walls: Hidden drips can lead to mold, rot, and structural problems.
  • Concrete Slabs: Slab leaks are notorious for going unnoticed, but our methods pinpoint and repair them with precision.
  • Basements & Crawlspaces: These damp, dark areas are perfect hiding spots for leaks and damage.
  • Indoor Plumbing & Fixtures: From corroded pipes to leaking toilets, sinks, and showers, we've got it covered.
  • Water Heaters: Aging or malfunctioning units can drip or burst, causing significant damage.
  • HVAC-Related Leaks: Even air conditioners can produce unwanted moisture, leading to hidden leaks.
  • Yard & Sewer Lines: Unexplained puddles outside may signal a problem with your main line or sewer connections.
  • Water Mains: Your primary water service line is essential and vulnerable—quick action is key.
How can I tell if there’s a hidden leak in my home?
Unexplained high water bills, unusual damp spots, or musty smells often point to a hidden leak. You might also hear water running when nothing's turned on. If you notice any of these signs, scheduling a leak assessment is the best next step.
My water bill suddenly jumped. Is it really a leak, or could it be something else?
If your usage rose by around 50%, or you're paying an extra $75-$100 or more each month with no clear reason, a hidden leak is possible. While seasonal factors (like yard watering) can affect bills, it's wise to have a licensed plumber investigate to rule out a costly water loss.
Could a wet or muddy spot in my yard be a broken pipe?
Yes. If you've confirmed it's not a sprinkler issue, persistent soggy patches can signal a leak in your main water line or even sewer line. Our plumbers use ground microphones and cameras to see if the problem is an actual pipe leak or a simple drainage concern.
What causes slab leaks, and how do plumbers find them?

Slab leaks often come from corroded or damaged pipes beneath your home's concrete foundation. Shifting soil in Georgia's clay can also stress these lines. Licensed plumbers use tools like acoustic sensors, infrared cameras, and in-pipe cameras to pinpoint the leak precisely—sometimes within a couple of inches—so repairs remain as minimal as possible.

Why is there a musty odor inside my home if everything looks dry?
It usually means hidden moisture is collecting behind walls or floors. Sometimes it's a small leak in a pipe or fixture; other times it's a roof or building-envelope issue. A thorough inspection can trace the source and prevent mold or further damage.
How do plumbers detect leaks without tearing up walls and floors?
They use advanced, minimally invasive methods like acoustic listening devices, infrared imaging, and safe tracer gas. These techniques help zero in on the leak so only a small section of drywall or concrete needs to be opened—if at all.
My pipes are older. Does that increase my risk for leaks?
Aging or corroded pipes are more prone to issues. Galvanized steel, older copper, and especially polybutylene lines can crack or develop pinhole leaks over time. Replacing outdated materials can avert frequent leaks and major water damage down the road.
Can I handle small leaks myself?
Minor drips (like a leaky faucet) can sometimes be resolved by replacing a washer or tightening a fitting. But hidden or large leaks typically require a professional for a permanent repair and to ensure there's no underlying damage you might miss.
My water pressure suddenly dropped. Does that mean a leak?
It can be one cause. A significant leak lets water escape before it reaches your fixtures, reducing overall pressure. However, pressure changes can also stem from municipal supply issues or sediment buildup. A professional inspection helps confirm whether a leak is involved.
Could my high water bill be caused by a running toilet or dripping faucet?
Absolutely. A continuously running toilet or slow-dripping faucet wastes a surprising amount of water. Checking these easy-to-spot issues first can save you time and money, but if the bill remains high, professional leak detection is a smart move.
Is it always better to do a full repipe rather than a simple fix?

Not necessarily. If the overall piping is still solid, a spot repair might do the trick. However, if multiple leaks hint at widespread corrosion—often the case with older materials—repiping can be a wiser, longer-lasting investment.
