The year was 2014, and it was time for a change – a big change.

Even before starting our company in 2007, we – David and Jason Peavey – saw extraordinary growth potential in the residential heating and air marketplace. By the time we incorporated in 2008, we’d already distinguished ourselves in the Atlanta area as HVAC professionals who truly valued customers’ comfort and safety, not to mention the efficiency of the equipment that we installed in their homes.

In an environment where most “professionals” frequently cut corners, whether knowingly or unknowingly, and deliver the bare minimum, we were doing things right and providing maximum value.

We weren’t your typical HVAC contractor. Not by a long shot.

But that’s just one way we were different.

Over time, we began to realize that heating and cooling equipment only represents one aspect of home performance. We often learned this the hard way and at significant expense to ourselves.

For example, there was a time we installed a powerful humidifier in a client’s home only to see zero change in humidity levels throughout the living space. By the time we uninstalled the equipment and gave the client a refund, we were out $5,000. But we’d learned an important lesson:

The equipment you install is only part of the equation.

Other factors that influence comfort, safety, and HVAC efficiency include:

We’d started to view the home as a system – a variety of components working together to keep you and your family comfortable. To solidify our understanding of home performance, we completed Building Performance Institute (BPI) training at the Southface Energy Institute in Atlanta.

Before long, it wasn’t all about HVAC equipment anymore. It was about everything that impacts the performance and effectiveness of that equipment!

Slowly, we started integrating home performance services (and their requisite training and certifications) into our suite of offerings. As we morphed into a full-blown home performance company, we also realized that our name, Peavey Air Conditioning, and Heating, provided a very limited impression of what we did.

And it didn’t set us apart from the rest of Atlanta’s HVAC contractors.

Enter PV Heating, Cooling & Plumbing

We still offer all the outstanding HVAC services that we’ve provided since our early days. However, we also go the extra mile to help you optimize your home’s comfort system, not to mention the performance of your home itself.

Ultimately, you want your home to use energy efficiently while providing the safest, most comfortable heating and cooling experience for your needs and budget. That’s what we do better than anybody in the Atlanta area.

So, if you were wondering about our name change – and a lot of our customers have been asking! – now you know how it all came about. We’re PV Heating, Cooling & Plumbing, and we’re proud to be Atlanta’s premier home performance company!
